Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of ArcLucid. We’ve written them in plain English and to match how the product actually works.
The short version
Credits for AI, free to keep
Start with free credits; AI actions cost credits (which never expire) and everything else is free. AI suggestions can be wrong — always check them.
Your data, your key
You own your content; we encrypt it so we cannot read it. Lose both your password and recovery phrase and it is gone for good — even to us.
Use it responsibly
Be 16+, don't misuse the service or others' data, and remember that sharing a profile can expose your identity and contact details.

Before you start
ArcLucid encrypts your data with a key derived from your password — we never hold it. That means we genuinely cannot recover your CV data if you forget both your password and your recovery phrase. Keep them safe.
1. Agreement to these terms
By creating an account or using ArcLucid (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time (see “Changes to these terms” below).
2. Who we are
ArcLucid (“ArcLucid”, “we”, “us”) is an AI-assisted career-profile service operated from the United Kingdom. You can reach us at arclucidm@gmail.com.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement to use ArcLucid. If you are below the age of majority where you live, you confirm that a parent or guardian agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
4. Your account and security
Keep your account details accurate and your password and recovery phrase secret. Because of our zero-knowledge design, your password derives the key that encrypts your data, and that key never reaches us. If you lose both your password and your recovery phrase, your CV data is permanently unrecoverable — we cannot reset or recover it for you. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe it has been compromised.
5. The service
ArcLucid turns your CV into a structured, evidence-backed skills profile and offers features such as Role Fit analysis, an AI career coach and agents, layered recruiter disclosure, multiple profiles, Interview Mode practice, optional public profile sharing, and job discovery. ArcLucid is free to use — you only spend credits on AI actions, as described in “Credits, billing and refunds” below. We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service.
6. Credits, billing and refunds
ArcLucid is free to use; you only spend creditson AI actions (for example importing a CV, a Role Fit analysis, or a coach message). New accounts get a free credit allocation to try the product. You can buy one-off credit packs, or subscribe to ArcLucid Plus, which refills a monthly credit allowance. Current prices and the cost of each action are shown on our Pricing page. Credits never expire, and no feature is locked behind a paywall — credits only ever pay for AI actions. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details. You can cancel Plus at any time — cancelling stops future refills and nothing else, and any credits you have already received remain yours. Refunds: if you are a consumer you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days. We refund unused credit packs within 14 days of purchase; once credits have been spent the used portion is non-refundable, though we may refund a part-used balance pro-rata at our discretion. Subscription fees already charged are generally non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. To request a refund, email arclucidm@gmail.com.
7. AI features — please read
ArcLucid uses artificial intelligence (including Google Gemini and other providers) to analyse your CV, suggest role fit, estimate salary and demand figures, and coach you. AI output is advisory, may be inaccurate or incomplete, and is not professional, legal, financial, medical, or career advice. Always verify anything important before relying on it. Decisions you make based on the Service are your own.
8. Your content and ownership
You own your CV and everything you put into ArcLucid. You grant us only the limited licence needed to operate the Service for you — including transmitting the relevant text to our AI sub-processors for a single inference, as described in our Privacy Policy. We cannot read your encrypted data, we do not sell it, and we do not use your content to train AI models.
9. Public profile sharing
Sharing is opt-in and off by default. If you publish a share link, you are responsible for what it contains and for who you give it to. A viewer who advances to Layer 2of a shared profile can see your identity, contact details (email and phone), and location. You can revoke a link at any time. Do not publish content you do not have the right to share, or anyone else’s personal data without their consent.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to: break the law or infringe others’ rights; upload another person’s data without their consent; upload malware or harmful content; attempt to breach, probe, or circumvent our security or usage limits; scrape, overload, or abuse the Service or its AI; impersonate anyone; or use ArcLucid to harass, defraud, or unlawfully discriminate. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.
11. Third-party services
We rely on sub-processors and third-party providers (for example Google Gemini, Cloudflare, OCR language data, and job-board APIs) to deliver certain features, as listed in our Privacy Policy. Job listings, salary figures, and external links come from third parties; we do not control them and cannot guarantee their accuracy or availability.

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we hold and how we handle it. By using ArcLucid you agree to it.
13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, and we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output is accurate. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the prior twelve months or £100. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud). If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.
14. Termination
You can stop using ArcLucid and delete your account at any time from Settings — deletion permanently erases your account, your encrypted data, and your keys, and issues you a deletion receipt. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or where we must to comply with the law. When access ends, your right to use the Service stops.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. If a change is material, we will let you know (for example in-app or by email) and update the effective date above. Continuing to use ArcLucid after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction — except that, if you are a consumer, you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live.
